2003 Chevy Trailblazer Recall
Recall of Chevy Trailblazer 2003 model is for defects on vehicles that include
mini vans, passenger and sport utility vehicles' driver' side air bag that may
not function as it should and possibly rapture. This defect will put the driver
at risk and injure the other persons onboard the vehicle by the pieces of the
inflator that could strike. The dealers of the 2003 Chevy Trailblazer will inspect
the driver's air bag and install a new one if necessary.
Dealers'failure to conform to the agreement regarding the service date should
report the problem to Chevrolet or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall of Chevy Trailblazer because of the driver-side airbag defect affected
133,221 units of the said vehicle. General Motors Corporation also issued a recall
on 2003 models including the Chevrolet Trailblazer along with GMC Envoy and Oldsmobile
Bravada.
The recall affects 44,653 units of sport utility vehicles, defect that resulted
from the manufacturing process of the left-front brake pipe with a circumferential
score at a random location along the length of the pipe. The brake pipe may fracture
partially of fully, and possible immediate increase of brake pedal travel may
occur therefore reduce the front brake performance, leading to vehicular crash.
Dealers on the other hand will replace the left-front brake pipe.
