Chevy Trailblazer Lift Kit
A lift kit is designed for increase of space between the suspension and frame
or between the body and frame of a vehicle. It made to possibly mount larger wheels
and tires under the vehicle so to increase ground clearance and suspension travel.
A lift kit may include blocks, new leaf springs, coil spring spacers, add-a-leafs,
lifted spindles, replacement control arms, and special brackets for mounting suspension
components on a frame.
Blocks provide 2 or 4-inch lift that should not be used in lifting a front suspension.
The add-a-leafs is designed to lift the suspension on a vehicle with leaf springs.
Usually used in milder lift kits for additional leaf to the existing leaf spring
pack. Most vehicles use the leaf springs for the rear suspension but at the front
suspension on other full-size pickups and sport utility vehicles.
It is designed to control the up and down movement of the vehicle. Coil spring
spacers provide mild suspension lift for vehicles with coil springs. Lifted spindles
are not usually included in a lift kit. Lifted steering knuckle is another name
for lifted spindles. The control arms as part of the lift kit are designed to
eliminate flex, for better handling and traction.
