Chevy Trailblazer Recall
2002 Chevy Truck TrailBlazer 4WD L6-242 4.2L DOHC VIN S SFI safety recalls were
about non-compliance of the theft protection, driver airbag inspection and replacement,
fuel filter fitting retainer replacement, insufficient high-speed gear engagement
and transfer case and control module check and reprogram. While for the 2Wd of
the same model and year recall is the same as for its 4WD except about insufficient
high-speed gear engagement and transfer case and control module check and reprogram.
General recalls for both models is about cylinder liner cracking warranty extension.
Recall of Chevy Trailblazer 2003 models is about defects on vehicles that include
mini vans, passenger and sport utility vehicles' driver's side air bag that may
fail to function as it should and possibly rapture. General Motors Corporation
also issued a recall on 2003 models that include
Chevrolet Trailblazer along with GMC Envoy and Oldsmobile Bravada.
The recall affects 44,653 units of sport utility vehicles, defect that resulted
from the manufacturing process of the left-front brake pipe with a circumferential
score at a random location along the length of the pipe. The brake pipe may fracture
partially of fully, and possible immediate increase of brake pedal travel may
occur therefore reduce the front brake performance, leading to vehicular crash.
Dealers on the other hand will replace the left-front brake pipe.
